Land Takeoffs ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Land Takeoffs web application, the takeoff service at landtakeoffs.com/gradingiq and its API, the Land Takeoffs connector for AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT, and the Land Takeoffs iOS mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services. The section Plan Sets, CAD Files, and Takeoffs covers files you upload for takeoffs and connections from AI assistants.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and company name. Payment information is processed securely by Stripe and is never stored on our servers.
Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device's GPS coordinates to identify nearby parcels and provide field navigation features. Location data is used only during active sessions and is not stored or shared with third parties.
Camera and Photos: With your permission, the app accesses your camera to capture site photos that you attach to parcel records. Photos are stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your account. We do not access your photo library without your explicit action.
Push Notification Tokens: If you opt in to push notifications, we store your device token to send you alerts about deal matches, owner responses, and team activity. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage analytics (pages viewed, features used) via Google Analytics to improve our product. We do not collect personally identifiable information through analytics.
Parcel and Property Data: Property data displayed in the app is sourced from public records, county GIS systems, and third-party data providers (ATTOM, USDA, USGS). Your saved properties, notes, and analysis results are stored in your account.
This section covers our takeoff service: the account page at landtakeoffs.com/gradingiq, our API, and our connector for AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT.
Files you upload. Civil plan sets (PDF) and CAD or surface files (such as DWG, DXF, and LandXML) that you upload in your account, send to our API, drop into a private upload link, or share with us as a link from a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive. When you share a link, we download that file only. We do not access anything else in your storage account.
What we produce from them. Takeoff results, including quantities, the sheet or file each one came from, confidence levels, and the Excel and PDF reports.
Takeoff details you provide. Project names, an optional customer reference, and answers you give to questions about a takeoff (for example, strip depth or which boundary is the scope).
Account and billing records. Your email address, the sign-in provider you use (Google, Microsoft, or email), your credit balance, and a record of credit purchases and takeoffs. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
We use your files to produce your takeoffs, to deliver the results and reports to you, and to support your account.
We also use uploaded files and takeoff results to test and improve the accuracy of our takeoffs. For example, we re-run past plan sets after a change to check that quantities got better, not worse. This work is done by Land Takeoffs only.
We do not sell your files or results, share them with other customers, publish them, or use them to advertise to you. If we ever describe our accuracy publicly, we use totals and percentages that do not identify you, your client, or the project.
The AI providers we use do not train their models on your files (see "Who processes your files").
If you would rather your projects not be used to improve accuracy, email support@landtakeoffs.com and we will exclude your account.
To read plan sets, we send the pages of your plan set to Anthropic, the maker of Claude, through its commercial API. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models.
We store files and results with Cloudflare (file storage) and Railway (application hosting and database). Both are hosted in the United States.
We also use Stripe (payments), Google Firebase (sign-in), and SendGrid (account emails). These services receive only what they need to do their part, such as your email address or a payment, and not your plan sets.
When you connect Land Takeoffs to Claude, ChatGPT, or another AI app, you sign in and approve the connection on our site. The app then acts on your account, using your credits, to start takeoffs, check their status, and fetch results and report links that you ask for.
Results returned to the AI app become part of your conversation in that app and are handled under that app's own privacy policy (for example, Anthropic's or OpenAI's). We do not receive your other conversations or anything from your AI app beyond the requests it sends to us.
You can see and disconnect connected apps at any time on your account page, under "Use it in your AI." Disconnecting ends that app's access immediately.
If you ask an AI assistant for a private upload link, the link works for one takeoff, expires after 24 hours, and stops accepting files after the first upload. Anyone who has the link can upload to that one takeoff, so share it only with people you trust.
Links to your Excel and PDF reports are private and expire within 1 hour. You can always get a fresh link from your account page or your AI assistant.
We keep your files, results, and reports while your account is active, so you can download your reports again and re-run a takeoff after a plan revision.
You can delete a project at any time from your account page, under "Your takeoffs." Deleting a project permanently removes its uploaded plans and CAD files, its takeoff results, and its Excel and PDF reports. A record of the credits used stays in your account history, without the project.
To delete your whole account, email support@landtakeoffs.com. We complete account deletion within 30 days.
Files are sent and stored encrypted. Each customer's projects, files, and results are kept separate, and every request is checked against the account it belongs to. API keys and connection tokens are stored only as one-way hashes, so we cannot read them back.

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication (Firebase Auth with optional biometric login), and encrypted data storage. Your biometric data (Face ID / Touch ID) is processed entirely by your device's secure enclave and is never transmitted to our servers.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics purposes.
